The Golden Triangle Business Roundtable welcomed the honorable Jasper County Judge Mark Allen of the I-14 Gulf Coast Strategic Highway Coalition. The GCSHC is a non-profit organization comprised of cities, counties, port authorities and economic development organizations in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. They were successful in winning congressional designation of the I-14 Central Texas Corridor.  Judge Allen discussed the plans and development of the I-14 Texas Corridor across multiple states that would authorize freeway routes linking a dozen military facilities “Forts to Ports”, and energy producing regions across five states with manufacturing centers and global shipping hubs on the Gulf Coast including the Port of Beaumont. In addition to enhancing military logistics, the I-14 corridor will add coastal evacuation capacity and bring additional economic development opportunities to rural and urban communities in all five states.
