On February 18, 2020 GTBR held it’s first semiannual Plant Managers Meeting at the Port Arthur Civic Center.  Guest Speaker was Benjamin Torres, Technical Manager, ExxonMobil Beaumont Blade Project.  The BLADE (Beaumont Light Atmospheric Distillation Expansion) project will integrate a third crude unit within the existing Beaumont refinery to boost crude refining capacity by more than 65%- by some 250,000 barrels per day.  Current capacity is 366,000 barrels per day.  The project is expected to create up to 1,850 construction jobs and 40-60 permanent jobs upon completion.  Startup is anticipated by 2022.

Additionally, Regina Rogers and Norma Sampson, Executive Director at Gift of Life, spoke about the many benefits Gift of Life provides the Golden Triangle area.  Also, their upcoming fundraiser “Champagne & Ribs” to be held on April 29, 2020 at the Beaumont Civic Center benefiting Men’s Health and Prostate Cancer Program.
