Beaumont, TX, September 30, 2021 – The Golden Triangle Business Roundtable (GTBR) has a new home and new leadership. Following the retirement of Executive Director, Dennis Isaacs, the Industrial Safety Training Council (ISTC) has assumed management of the long-standing organization that has served the industrial community for over three decades. General operations for the organization will be moved to ISTC’s location at 3749 Hwy 69 North in Beaumont. Under new management, Katie Celli will assume the responsibilities of the Executive Director effective September 30, 2021.
Isaacs has served as Executive Director of GTBR since 2017 and will retire at the end of September amid his 50th year of industrial service. Prior to his position at GTBR, he spent a total of 44 years in the environmental profession including 22 years with E.I. DuPont as the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager at the Beaumont Works location until his retirement in 2011. Dennis has served on a number of Executive Boards including Texas Air Research Center at Lamar University, Texas Energy Museum, Texas Association of Businesses, Southeast Texas Environmental Manager’s Forum and the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission’s Air Quality Advisory Committee, Leadership Southeast Texas and The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce.
“Southeast Texas is experiencing phenomenal growth within the industrial arena and the GTBR has and continues to be a strong proponent and advocate for the present and future economic development of our region,” states Isaacs. “To have been a part of the GTBR legacy has been both a privilege and honor to have served our Refining, Petrochemical, and Chemical industries and the essential workforce provided by a diversity of construction companies. I am confident that with the merging of the GTBR and ISTC, all aspects of this growth potential, to include the preparation of a well-skilled and safe workforce, will be successfully sustained.”
Celli is the Assistant Director of Client Relations at ISTC where she will continue to serve in a dual role. Prior to working in the oil and gas industry, Celli spent the majority of her career in Public Relations and Marketing. She previously served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, a Steward Healthcare facility. She has served on a number of community boards including The Anayat House, Family Services of Southeast Texas, The Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Southeast Texas and United Way of Beaumont and North Jefferson County where she served as 2015/2016 Campaign Chair. She is a passionate advocate to end Alzheimer’s disease and has Chaired the Beaumont Walk to End Alzheimer’s for the past 2 years.
“The management transition makes sense,” states Celli. “As of this year, ISTC has been firmly entrenched in the industrial community for 30 years serving the safety needs of the Petro-chemical, Refining and construction fields throughout Southeast Texas and beyond. ISTC and GTBR are two separate and unique organizations that happen to serve the same population and have a remarkable dual interest in industrial safety. I look forward to continuing the good work and collaboration GTBR is promoting throughout the Southeast Texas industrial community.”
Issacs and Celli have actively worked together through this transition which will conclude September 30, 2021. GTBR is thankful for Isaacs’ contributions to the organization and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
